I was starting to get worried about you.
I’ve been pretty grumpy. Family issues. WOW has been the path of least resistance. Haven’t watched much anime. GITS:SAC is still unopened. (Granted, I’ve seen it all before, it was my first animé post on Houblog, in fact.) Outlaw Star is unfinished. Lost interest in discussing Shana (not that we hadn’t beaten that horse enough.) Nagasarette and Hayate got tossed as wastes of time. Maybe I’ll go back and give Aymae…uh whatever, the “monk & cute girls” story, another chance. At least it’s got beaucoup fanservice, which isn’t something that can be said for much of today’s crap.
Finally worked up enough interest to view Romeo X Juliet last night. Gonzo does Shakespeare, so the art’s good. So far, the show isn’t half-bad. Of course, it’s in “Neo-Verona”, a floating city in the sky, and they’ve changed the story up somewhat. A large amount of Zorro appears to have been transferred into the first two episodes, if you can believe that. And it’s amusing to see Shakespeare directing Othello as a part of the show. (One of its conceits is that it occasionally tosses in bits of Shakespeare from other plays–usually with the Bard being the one to recite it–in the original Japanese, of course.) If you think the castle you showed was fanciful, you ought to see the entire city of Neo Verona.
Very annoyed that both of the fansubs I have aren’t playing properly in my .mkv player; I think it’s my system, not the subs.
