Sadly, your cities civil service dept is not in any way unique in possessing this deficit. It is merely a small part of a disturbingly large national trend.

  2. And even those of us who do have Japanese ninja catgirl meidos, they don’t have Kawasumi Ayako’s voice.

    (Macademy Wasshoi…)

  3. Ubu Roi says:

Oh, in that show, I want the dog-girl anyway. (Although I thought she was a catgirl at first).

Anyway, I hope to finish my “quick review” post and get a few screenshots from all the episode 1’s I’ve watched this week.

Including — wait for it… yes, Rosario + Vampire, Kapu 2! Amazingly, it wasn’t the worst thing I watched.

  4. I think the fansubbers blew that subtitle. She is clearly a catgirl, not a doggy girl.

I love her weapon, with a blade on one end and a mop on the other.

  5. Ubu Roi says:

Heh, I was making that exact observation in my review. Although I thought it was a push broom, but then I didn’t look that close. And yeah, she looks much more cat than dog to me too, but I figured it was too basic to be mistaken. Unless the kanji are similar and they misread it?

  6. You’re right, it is a broom head.

  7. I just looked at that scene, and from the fansub we’re not going to be able to tell if they translated it wrong because they laid the English subtitle right on top of the Japanese caption. Without a copy of the raw, we’re SOL.

  8. May I change that? There’s a scene later where the fansubbers translated what the meido said to include “dog-eared”, but what she actually says is kemono-mimi. “Kemono” means “beast”. It doesn’t imply a canine.

  9. Ubu Roi says:

Ah, so she’s a beastie girl. Maybe she breaks out in music later.

    Humor? At 5am? Be serious.
