About Time

Via Steven and Robert, Dentsu got their heads out of their asses and have licensed a bunch of Geneon’s old titles through Funimation, who I’d say is odds-on favorite to become the source of anime in R1. (Well, Bandai might have something to say. We’ll see.)

Among the titles that will now see street dates is Black Lagoon, Second Barrage. I’ve been holding back from torrenting it, 😛 despite wanting to see more of Revy, not to mention how it ends. The first half-season doesn’t resolve anything, although it’s obviously putting the pieces in place for Rock & co. to be in the middle of fighting a neo-nazi plot to build a nuclear weapon.

Check out how many of the licenses on this page belong to Funimation. They seem to be licensing stuff faster than they can release it.

Of course this announcement had to come right after I dropped $75 on the first five volumes of Ergo Proxy, worried that it wouldn’t be available much longer.

Yay for Second Barrage, Higurashi, and Nanoha, though. Maybe Fate as well–never got a chance to pick that one up before it disappeared from stock everywhere.

Yeah, Fate. I might have been able to assemble a full set by ordering from 3-4 sources when I went looking for it, but decided it was not worth the risk of one or more orders going out of stock and ending up with an incomplete series.
