CCS: 45 Down, One To Go

Well, here I am with one episode to go out of the first CardCaptor Sakura series. I have to say, I did not expect that. I thought of it…. But I went, “yeah, right! There’s something unusual there, but not that!” Sheesh. “There is no such thing as coincidence.” Heh. Completely blindsided…

If you have seen that much of the series, you know exactly what I’m talking about. If you haven’t, sorry, it’s as close as I’m getting to a spoiler.

But the second OP and ED are as bad a pair of songs as I’ve ever heard. The first opening grew on me after a while, and some episodes, I would listen most or all of the way through it. Not the second. Ugh.

Edit: and what gets me is that there were two really obvious clues, but they did have to be put together with the third, and I didn’t spot any of them.

  1. It certainly blindsided me. I definitely didn’t expect it at all.

Which puts a certain relationship into an entirely different light, doesn’t it?

Ha. Which ONE of them? Quite a few got tangled up by that bit. (Of course, the one more than others.)

I’ve got 5 DVD’s to go now, so I’ll finish this week. Debating putting one more on tonight but I think I need to take time off from animé and take care of necessities… like paying bills.

Third OP made me rethink the second pair. No, IT is as bad a song as I’ve ever heard. I like the ED though, it’s upbeat and catchy.

Edit: At least Meilin got a lot more sympathetic before she left. But I know she’ll be back, thanks to the DVD covers. I have to agree, she does make a remarkable villian onstage. 🙂

  3. You should watch the 46th episode immediately. If you think ep 45 had surprises, just wait.

  4. Ubu Roi says:

Oh, I did. I paused just to post that note. I’m on ep. 51 now. Actually, none of the surprises in 46 compared to that one in #45, at least to me. Although, I definitely didn’t expect how another character fit in the end; it wasn’t where/how I thought, at all. Still seems kind of odd, especially given the antagonist in the 2nd series.
