Doing a Few Reps (repetitions, that is)

Well, if you don’t want to do six episodes of watching five people doing the same things over and over again, you can always spend 23 minutes watching Hinako work up a sweat on these puppies, doing a variety of exercises.

The full “Exercising with Hinako” DVD hit the torrents today. Um. Well, we get a few new angles, and new exercise outfits, including underwear. (White with pink fluffy lace, if you have to know. And if it wasn’t actually lace, well it’s not like I was really looking at the clothing, ok????)

NSFW:

Then there was this bit:

I couldn’t figure out what it was supposed to be at first. She’s just lying on the bed counting. Then it dawned on me… she’s “watching” you exercise. Heh. I have to wonder how many otaku are actually exercising to this?

I have to admit some temptation, but I’m not crazy. I limited myself to 12 oz. beer curls. I also wonder if I got a bad torrent or something; the run ends abruptly at 23:51, while she’s counting on the bed.

Oh well. While I find this video strangely fascinating, it still needs more wardrobe malfunction. They tease mercilessly with that strap on her right shoulder.

Are You Out of Your Alledged Mind?

So let me get this straight… There’s going to be a total of SIX iterations of the time loop in the Endless Eight arc?

The only possible explanation of this is that they were trying to top season one’s mixed-up episode order. That or copious amounts of crack, a lost weekend in Rio, two prostitutes, 37 toothpicks, and a pair of lederhosen.

Which, now that I think of it, those two explanations are not mutually exclusive.

Needless

Very appropriate name. Awful OP, an ED that rivals Divergence Eve’s for inappropriate (doesn’t beat it, but does manage a respectable showing), and a setup/characters/style that are so obviously trying to rip off Gurren Lagen (with a much more frenetic style and mutants instead of robots) it’s painful. No, really. There’s a Kamina, a Yoko, a non-gay Leeron, and definitely a Simon, and we’re not even out of the first episode.

Oh, and a cute girl died (well, no body, so maybe not) in the opening minutes, saving the Simon. And Yoko’s a hyper-violent ditz. Imagine a curvy Louise Zero with Suzumiya Haruhi’s personality.

I really hope something else comes through with a bit of quality this season (he says, while checking on the Queen’s Blade and Akane-Iro OVA torrents), or I’m going to be ordering a lot of hentai VN’s from Robert to keep busy….

Retirement of the Router From Hell

Random net storms. Super-slow download speeds, worse than a basic 54k phone modem. Pings of 200 to 1,000. Disconnects, where it just decides it’s not going to talk to the DSL modem at all, requiring multiple restarts, resets, and reentry of all the contact data. All-night bittorrent sessions, hours to download game patches. And a history like this and this.

Goodbye, Linksys, you’ve overstayed your welcome. Hello D-Link. You roxxor.

I’d Pay to See THAT in Theaters!

I had a really, really silly thought this morning.

Why doesn’t someone do a Lord of the Rings parody…

RahXephon, just a note

Ok, I really started getting hooked about the middle of the series, and blew through the last four disks in one night; staying up until ridiculous in the morning doing so.

Anyone who read the complaint about Haruna, and the speculation behind the spoiler tag in my last comment must be laughing their butts off about now.

Schoolgirl crush, indeed. Chicks dig the artsy types, don’t they?

It finally got angsty, right about the time I got interested.

Maybe I’ll do a full write-up on this one. The back-story’s a mess, and it might need a bit of ret-conning. It’s not told in straightforward manner; a lot is merely shown, but not explained, and a lot that’s explained is couched in allegorical terms.

My take: A decent rip-off of Evangelion, less depressing, with music and painting as central themes. (The more I look, the more parallels there are in characters: The Shinji, The Asuna, The Misato, the Rei, The Gendou. Even the Angels are there.)

One nice point: everyone I thought should get their just rewards in the end, got theirs in the last two episodes. Everybody was busy shooting everyone else, but it worked out.

Things I Learned From the First Episode of RahXephon:

Never, ever take the subway anywhere. If you don’t run into a great big pile of rocks, you might just end up in a strange alien temple.
