Let me ask you a question: If you were a webcomic author — a successful one, at that — how long would you put up with someone in your forums who:
- Belittles your art compared to his girlfriend’s (“You realize, I ran a webcomic right? ” and “His consistency sucks nuts”),
- Accuses your writing of being un-original and sub-par (“You act as if this story is amazingly good or something, when it’s only mediocre at best”),
- Insults your fans (“retards”),
- Curses at fans who take him to task for being a pissy, jealous little bitch,
- Heads straight for the gutter and insults you when accused of trolling (“Indeed… this coming from a man that’s about 2 lines short of admitting he jerks off to pictures of Piro with his little combover.”),
- Sarcastically curses anyone who tells him to stuff it (“OHNOS, some random fucker is telling me to shut up…”)
- Knows you in real life, but still acts this way (“Why am I here? Because I can be. The first reason was just to harass Dom and Ed who I didn’t realize were the MT people but I knew personally. Snowball+Mountain from there.”)
Now let’s go for the kicker….
Never mind how fast you’d hit them with a perma-ban….How long would you let this person be a moderator on your forums?
Seriously, that’s some patience with a person.
Update: The sad thing is this guy’s actually got a point about the quality of the art, though I’ve seen webcomics that do far, far worse. It’s just that his attitude gets in the way of his message, and then he becomes the issue. But enough of that….
Fred’s been on a roll lately. The setup: this young lady (Kimiko Nanasawa) wronged her proto-boyfriend (Piro) badly last night, and then quit her job just a few minutes ago, when the manager went spastic on her. I wager she did not want to hear what her (female and more stacked) roomie says in the last frame.
The fanservice starts in the next strip: to explain, the taller girl (Erika) has been convinced by her boyfriend (Piro’s roommate) that you MUST be naked to work on a computer or the static will destroy the parts. He’s not available right now, and she’s putting one together for the first time….
But those two are just the setup — watching Kimiko work through the logic chain is the payoff!
