A Little More Gravion

Up to episode 5. Not going to keep doing the twittering, it’s a bit much and I don’t have enough readers for anyone to actually be looking at that in real-time anyway. I do have a few observations though.

The onsen episode was ok, but I expected more Fae Xin Lu. Disappointing. Overall, even without that episode, I think they’ve kicked the fanservice up a little bit. We’re getting a lot more panty shots, explicit nipple outlines through sheer fabric, but the real pr0n is the mecha. Either I’m becoming immune to it or they’re scaling it back a bit though.

Something that makes me go “hmmmmm.” It’s a picture, but I’m putting it behind the tag, because I think it’s a clue, and if so, it’s a spoiler.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Update: Dammit. I am NOT twittering this, I said.

But if I can figure out how to defeat Gravion, why can’t the Zeravire? Just wait until the moon’s not overhead and they can’t get the sword to descend.

Flawless victory!

Still needs more Fae. Having an animé with a character named Fae (or phonetic equivalent thereof) makes any show a winner. Just ask Ms. Valentine.

Update:Oh. Crap. Steven, you are laughing your ass off right now, aren’t you? I picked the wrong one!

Update: Episode 6: Ok, I give up. THAT wasn’t even in the cards. This show is starting to reach Code Geass levels of crazy plot twists. Are we sure it’s Gonzo and not Sunrise? I’m actually starting to enjoy it for the same reason I do CG. I don’t know where the hell we’re going to end up, but it’s going to be a ride to remember, getting there!

Update: Ok, it’s Code Geass, without the Geass. Just forget about the clues, and run with it.

Clues like that.

Update: Right on cue.

And about damned time. Finally! Some Fae-service! (and I bet Mizuki’s in there too.)

Ok, so I was wrong about that. But does Fae understand just what she’s saying every time a Zeravire gets destroyed?

  1. I’m not sure what you’re referring to in your last spoiler tag.

  2. I just went back and checked to see where you are. (I remember the plot but not the episode boundaries.)

Ep 6 is where it starts getting really bizarre.

  3. Ubu Roi says:

I hadn’t gotten far enough to understand what I saw. Looking at the transformation sequences, I had decided that Toga is a humanoid Zeravire, raised to believe he was human. Then Leele goes eye-to-eye with a Zeravire, has her memory sequence, and the Zeravire goes boom — as she remembers she is one. That’s where I was when I said that about the “wrong one.” Of course, then the next episode opens, the defector breaks away, prompting my CG remark, and then we find out that Zeravire is a name. So at this point, I’m back to my original theory. I still don’t understand some of the stuff involving the family relationships & the two societies in collision, but at this point, I’m just not caring to try and figure it out.

Crossing each others posting…. Yes, bizarre is one word for it…

  5. Re your last spoiler: yeah, it all gets explained in the end. Whether you buy the explanation is a different issue.

  6. Ubu Roi says:

Heh. Proto Gran Diva. Also, the photo was fake. At least in a way… I wouldn’t put it past this series to be messing with us there too. But if they reveal that now, what are the big revelations at the end? I’m getting a little punch-drunk here. Ok, must be “the reason.” But what else? (No, don’t answer.)

And just what is Fae going to scream when they kill the big bad? “Orgasm!” Damn, what’s she doing in that cockpit when the camera’s not on her?

  7. At least Fae’s mecha doesn’t have tits.

  8. Ubu Roi says:

    That bounce.

    /shudder. Remembering Godannar.
